Four workers are recovering from exposure to hazardous materials in Mansfield.

Late Monday afternoon, firefighters from Mansfield and Arlington rushed to a large industrial building housing Dura-Tech, a plant that specializes in nickel-plating and uses nitric acid as part of its processes.

Officials say it was a nitric acid leak that led to the 911 calls that resulted in more than 250 workers being evacuated from the plant at Sentry and Antler Drive near Highway 287 and Heritage Parkway.

Four of the workers were treated by paramedics at the scene and did not need to go to the hospital.

Winds were gusting at 30 to 35 miles-an-hour all afternoon and that helped because the wind dispersed fumes from the leak.
