Home sales in north Texas have fallen so far recently, the percentage of homes sold in the last month here has dropped more than we saw during the great recession of 2008.

October home sales in Dallas County are down 37% in Dallas and Collin counties and down 32% in Tarrant county, compared to last year at this time.

November's numbers look to be worse, down by more than 40% compared to last November.

North Texas still has a lot of people moving in but for the most part, most of them are moving into apartments.

Bill Hethcock from the Dallas Business Journal says this home sales slowdown could last into next year.

Home prices haven't fallen as much as sales, but he says we could see those prices drop more in 2023.
