Dak Prescott will be out for "several weeks" after he has surgery on his throwing hand that was injured just a few minutes before the end of Sunday night's Dallas Cowboys season opener at AT&T Stadium.
Losing 19 to 3 to Tampa Bay with a few minutes to play, Dak hit his hand on a Tampa Bay defender on his follow through of a pass.
Dak left the game and was seen running to the locker room before the game ended. After the game, Jerry Jones told reporters Prescott needs surgery for a fractured thumb and is expected to miss several games.
Dak's back-up, Cooper Rush, came in to finish the game and went 7-for-13, good for 64 yards.
