Dallas Cowboys fans may have mixed feelings about it but Kellen Moore is returning as Offensive Coordinator next season.
When the Cowboys won six of their first seven games, Moore's stock soared as just about everyone credited his innovative play-calling. But in the second half, the Cowboys went 6-and-4 and then capped off the season with that very disappointing first-round loss to the 49ers in the playoffs.
By then fans and sports media commentators were giving Moore the side-eye, saying his play-calling had grown stale and predictable.
Even so he was a hot commodity on the coaching vacancy carousel. He interviewed with at least four NFL teams. In fact, he got two interviews with Miami but over the weekend, the Dolphins said the job was going to 49ers Offensive Co-ordinator Mike McDaniel.
Moore will be back calling plays for Dallas this year.
