Summer is about to end, which means many are already starting to gear up for their favorite fall tradition; Halloween. To get people excited for the holiday, Food Network is bringing back their Halloween Baking Championship, and this year’s competition includes a chef from North Texas.
La Casita Bakeshop in Richardson’s own, Maricsa Trejo, hopes this year she is crowned the Halloween baking queen.
The new season of Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship will place 12 bakers in a haunted hotel for eight weeks as they compete in a number of different food challenges. The winner will receive a trip to the 10 most haunted hotels in America. This season will feature Maricsa Trejo, who is vocal about her love of the Halloween season, and is known for her yearly Halloween pastries.
“I was so nervous but most of all excited to be able to get to be a part of something like this. I suffer from bad anxiety, and this was a test for me to be able to handle that amount of stress,” said Trejo. According to Dallas Morning News, the first episode of this season airs on September 12. Hopefully North Texas will soon have a new champion to celebrate.
