With many employers handing work duties over to robots these days, more and more people are starting to worry about an eventual robot takeover. Of course, as long as robots are able to easily complete tasks to help make things easier for human customers, this will keep happening.
Now, Walmart will attempt to take robot workers to the next level, having machines create something almost no humans can turn down: pizza.
It was recently announced that Walmart would open a “Pizza Jukebox” location at one of their stores in Frisco.
The new pizza concept comes from Brix Holdings, which also owns the Red Mango frozen yogurt chain. The new automated pizza maker features a high-tech "pizza jukebox" that spins the pizza, assembles the toppings, and places it in the oven to cook within one to three minutes.
“We're seeing so much innovation with robots and Artificial Intelligence. This is a robot that actually makes pizza with no human intervention,” said Brix Holdings CEO Sherif Mityas.
According to Dallas Culture Map, the new pizza concept is expected to open inside Walmart around mid-June. While more locations are expected to be announced at a later date, the first will be at 16066 TX-121. As long as these robots can make a good pizza, everything will be okay.
