Budget airline Ryanair is encouraging passengers to rethink wearing jeans on its flights, saying the rigid denim could restrict movement and comfort during travel.

The recommendation came via a TikTok post from the airline’s official account that said “It’s 2026, let’s stop travelling in jeans,” and sparked debate among travelers online.

Ryanair’s safety and cabin teams have suggested looser, more flexible clothing may be more comfortable — particularly on longer flights — and could allow passengers to move more easily in cramped seating, though the guidance is not an enforceable dress code.

The post generated a mix of confusion and discussion among flyers, with some questioning the reasoning and others embracing the practical travel advice.
