Dozens of CVS Health locations in Texas will start giving COVID-19 vaccines today.
Health HUB field leader John Fratamico with CVS Health says people will need to register in advance through the company's website or telephone hotline.
"With that they will schedule the vaccine, which will be the initial dose and the booster dose 4 weeks later" said Fratamico.
The vaccines will be offered on an appointment-only basis that can be made through CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app. Those without internet service can also access it by calling customer service at 800-746-7287.
People will need to be in Group 1-A or 1-B to get an appointment.
Those groups include healthcare workers, people over the age of 65, and people with chronic health conditions that increase their risk of becoming infected with the virus.
