The Southwest Airlines meltdown is also having an impact on cruise ships which are going ahead and sailing without booked passengers.
The scores of flight cancellations at Southwest Airlines are leaving people with booked cruises to scramble to get to their departure ports.
Casey Carr with Sharon Carr Travel tells says if you miss your boarding time, they will not hold the boat for you, but you do have other options.
"Depending on where your cruise is going you can catch up to the cruise at it's next port of call" says Carr. "They're doing their best they can to juddle people's flights to get them to the next port to be picked up or to get them in earlier."
Carr says cruise lines will reach out to passengers who are flying with Southwest to get to their departure ports to get them rebooked on another airline, whether their flights have been cancelled or not.
