Hardworking is an attribute almost everyone wants to be known for. Luckily, that’s something that comes naturally to most Texans. According to a new study, Texas is one of the hardest working states in the country.
Despite dropping one spot from last year’s rankings, the new study conducted by WalletHub placed Texas in the top five of the hardest working states in America.
According to Dallas Culture Map, Texas ranked fifth, only being beaten by Alaska, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The results were based on 10 factors, such as; average number of workweek hours, share of workers with multiple jobs, and annual number of volunteer hours per resident.
While many Texans were happy to see another list ranking Texas near the top, some were upset the Lone Star state dropped a spot in the rankings over the last year. Keeping Texas in the top five was the state’s average number of workweek hours, which was the fourth highest in the country.
Hopefully by next year, Texas can claim the number one spot.
