Known for helping thousands of North Texas families struggling with hunger, today the Tarrant Area Food Bank needs your help. It's lacking volunteers.

"If we could get people to come and support and be able to roll up their sleeves and be an advocate for families in need, that's what we really need right now,” TAFB executive vice president Shagranda Traveler tells NBC 5.
At the height of the pandemic, national guard troops helped the food bank out. Those troops are gone now, but the need isn’t. So, it’s up to volunteers to make things happen.
Last night the food bank held a giveaway outside Clark Stadium. People showed up hours early to make sure they could get what they needed. Tonight, another big giveaway is being held at the Dickies Arena, and the food bank needs all the help it can get.
The food bank says volunteers can sign up online to help them help others.
