The COVID-19 pandemic has done little to diminish Texas' reputation as a business-friendly state.
Five cities from the Lone Star rank in the top 15 in a new Wallethub report on the nation's top places to start a business.
Considering factors including business environment, access to resources and business costs, the survey said Laredo is the No. 1 location in the U.S. for starting a business. Lubbock came in at No. 3, while Austin is eighth and Fort Worth ninth. Dallas is at No. 14.
Irving and Arlington also ranked in the top 25 in the Wallethub report, which examined the 100 largest cities in the U.S. While states like Texas and Florida scored well, California landed just one city - Irvine - in the top 20. New York's highest-ranking city is Buffalo at No. 90.
