New cars are still priced at a premium. The latest iSeeCars study finds that new vehicles are priced an average of 8.8% above MSRP nationally.
"Dallas is about on average," says executive analyst Karl Brauer from iSeeCars. "8.7-percent. That equates to about $3,852 on average that you have to pay over MSRP."
If you want to avoid price hikes, stick to less desirable vehicles, Brauer says.
Meanwhile, if you're in the market for a luxury car, prepare to pay more.
"It's not surprising," Brauer says. "You have people who are luxury buyers, they probably want the car when they want the car, and they're willing just to pay what it takes to get it."
And the numbers bear that out in North Texas, where the five vehicles selling at the greatest percentage above MSRP are all luxury models.
New Cars Priced the Highest Above MSRP in Dallas-Fort Worth:

2. Mercedes-Benz GLB - 26.5% ($11,249)
3. Cadillac CT4-V - 22.6% ($13,265)
4. Lexus IS 350 - 22.1% ($9,680)
