Wheels for Wellness event focuses on vaccines, cancer detection

The NFL Alumni Dallas Chapter is pushing hard to make a positive impact on men's health. Local NFL Alumni, including former Dallas Cowboys players Kevin Smith, Tony Casillas and Billy Davis will be at the Wheels for Wellness: Driven to Fight Prostate Cancer event on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in downtown Fort Worth.

Besides the great cars, a COVID-19 mobile vaccination clinic will be there to give free shots. Additionally, healthcare information and free PSA screenings will be available through the Prostate Cancer Resource Center of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

"Our deal is to get more information out about the vaccination," Smith says. "We're trying to encourage people to get information from the right people."

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and receive autographs from the former NFL players like Smith, Casillas, Davis and former Miami Dolphins safety and NFL Alumni Dallas Chapter president Liffort Hobley.

Attendees can also enter a raffle to win a player-signed NFL Alumni football. In addition to free doses of the COVID-19 vaccines, the event also will feature music, food and entertainment.

The event will be held at 701 Houston Street, Fort Worth (SE Corner of 6th and Houston)​.
