A child has died after accidentally shooting himself in Montgomery County, north of Houston, over the weekend.
The Sheriff's office says the three-year-old's family was gathered for his birthday Saturday when a pistol fell out of an adult's pocket. The toddler picked it up and the gun went off, striking him in the chest.
Investigators have not said if anyone is going to be charged.
