Dallas County jail to resume in-person visits

The Dallas County is ready to resume all in person jail visits again, starting Monday.

Those allowed in will depend on the inmate's last name, but starting Monday, visitors will be able to line up each afternoon at 4:45 p.m. for a chance to visit an inmate.

Raul Reyna of the Sheriff's Office says the number of visiting booths used will be cut in half and only one adult, no children, will be allowed to visit for 15 minutes at a time.

Visitation each night lasts until 9:00 p.m.

The Dallas County jail can hold 7,000 inmates, right now there are around 5,500 in custody.
