ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD)- A man is under mental health observation after an hours-long SWAT stand-off in Arlington Sunday.

Just before noon, police were called to a home on Smokey Quartz Lane in far north Arlington. They were told a man had fired shots at an empty car and then retreated into the house. He wouldn't come out and SWAT was called in to help negotiate.

The impasse ended quietly by late Sunday afternoon. The man was taken to the mental health center at JPS.
