Hurtado Barbecue is expanding its menu at Globe Life Field. The business opened a permanent stand near Section 141 in 2023; Hurtado Barbecue is now the "official barbecue restaurant of the Texas Rangers."
"It's really great to not only be able to introduce people who are visiting the ballpark for the first time or maybe their tenth time to what Texas barbecue is," says Owner Brandon Hurtado.
Hurtado has served beef ribs, tri-tip nachos, brisket nachos and a brisket sandwich since opening the stand. This year, he is adding "Smoked Wings" and the "Big Papa Potato."
Smoked Wings are described as "four whole smoked wing sections served with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce."
The Big Papa Potato is "a large baked potato stuffed with butter, cheddar cheese and Hurtado's signature shredded brisket, topped with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce."
Hurtado says his stand can introduce fans of other teams to Texas cuisine.
"They're usually speechless when they take that first bite of brisket," he says. "Their jaw drops. I think they're pretty amazed at what we get to eat on a regular basis."
Hurtado Barbecue is located in Section 141; a stand that sells only brisket nachos is located in Section 200.
