One woman is dead and another person is injured after they were struck by a vehicle while attempting to enter a rideshare in Dallas, police say.
The incident occurred Thursday on Gillespie Street in Uptown, Dallas police say. Two people were walking toward their parked rideshare when a driver in another vehicle drove around the rideshare and hit them.
Both victims were taken to the hospital. One of the victims, identified as 23-year-old Katherine Kerl, was pronounced dead, while the second victim remained hospitalized Tuesday in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
