
One person is dead after a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Mesquite Metro Airport on Thursday, fire officials say.
A Cessna Citation jet crashed before 9 a.m. Thursday in a wooded area near the intersection of E.
Cartwright and Lawson roads, Mesquite fire officials said.
Officials said the pilot, who was the only person on board, did not survive. No homes or businesses were damaged in the crash.
The FAA will investigate the cause of the crash.
