One person is hospitalized after hazmat crews were deployed to a recycling facility in East Fort Worth on Tuesday morning, fire officials say.

The incident happened before 9 a.m. on Elliott Reeder Road -- that's just south of Highway 121 and north of the West Fork of the Trinity River.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said 17 other people were either treated at the scene or declined medical attention. The cause of the incident is still under investigation, but the fire officials said there is no threat to the public.
