One person is dead and four others are injured in what state troopers are investigating as "a road rage incident" on Interstate 20 in Parker County on Thursday morning, officials say.

The crash happened at 8:51 a.m. Thursday on the eastbound side of I-20, according to the Texas Department of Public Safetly.

Texas DPS said a Honda CRV got on the highway and went straight into the left lane in front of a Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler then went around the CRV and "suddenly decelerated."

The driver of the CRV swerved to avoid a crash and lost control, rolling onto the westbound side of the highway, Texas DPS said. A 33-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were ejected from the vehicle. The man, identified as Cosme Espinoza of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman who was ejected, along with three other people in the CRV, were taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist in Fort Worth to be treated for minor injuries, according to Texas DPS.

Officials said the driver of the Wrangler stopped at the scene, saw those injured, and drove away.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555 or www.parkercountycrimestoppers.com. There is a cash reward available for information.
