A car dealership in Lewisville is hosting a party Tuesday night to fill police cars with toys for Lewisville ISD's Adopt an Angel program.

15 police departments are expected to attend the third annual First Responders Toy Drive at Sam Pack's Five Star Ford.

"They're wanting to let the community see [police] do a lot of good, we're here to help you, we want to be your friend and make a difference," Sam Pack's Five Star Ford's Sue Bowman said.

Bowman started the toy drive with just one police department participating. By last year, she says the event had grown to fill 13 police cars and three trucks with toys for 4,000 students.

"It's an amazing feeling," she says. "We can't do this by ourselves, but together, we can make a difference."

People can donate toys by driving through the dealership at 1144 N. Stemmons Fwy Lewisville, TX 75067. People can drop off toys, but they can also stop to take pictures with first responders. Bowman said Spider-Man is also expected to attend along with Santa and his reindeer, Prancer.

"I have some great connections with Santa," Bowman said. "He makes sure he brings this one down from the North Pole, so this is a pretty special deal."

Lewisville ISD schools will also attend with drill teams and drum lines. Wal-Mart and Kona Ice have donated food, and Summit Club of Flower mound will cook hot dogs.

"This brings the community together and closer together along with first responders," Bowman said. "They spend most of their time dealing with bad-guy stuff, so this is their good-guy portion."

The toy drive runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, but Bowman says Sam Pack's Five Star Ford will continue taking donations of new, unwrapped toys and cash through Saturday.
