Denton police arrest an 18-year-old for the murder of another teen who died of a fentanyl overdose.
Police say it was back in September when they got the overdose call about 17-year-old Ryan Erwin.
He was taken to the hospital, but he didn't survive. During the investigation police determined Zakkary McReynolds sold Erwin fentanyl the morning he died.
On Tuesday police worked with the Denton County Sheriff's Office, and the US Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force and arrested him on a murder warrant.
McReynolds is in the City of Denton Jail, with bail not yet set.
There's a new law went into effect back in September allowing police to arrest people for murder if they supply someone with fentanyl that leads to death.
Denton police say since that went into effect they have already arrested three people.
