An incredible sports memorabilia auction at Heritage Auctions in Dallas is getting worldwide attention.

The centerpiece is the famous 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card. It's expected to go for more than $10 million, and be the most expensive card ever sold.

Earlier this month, the T206 Honus Wagner card sold for a record $7.25 million.

"It really is setting the bar because of its extremely strong condition, and ultimately the condition leads to the value," said Chris Ivy, Director of Sports Auctions for Heritage.

The card is graded "Mint+ 9.5."

But in addition to the Mantle card, the vast collection features a game-used, signed Babe Ruth bat that could fetch more than $2 million.

"He used this bat between 1918 and 1922," Ivy said. "He actually gifted this bat to one of his Hall of Fame friends, Frank "Home Run" Baker."

The auction is live now, and scheduled to close on Sunday, August 28.
