A crash on Interstate 35W south of Downtown Fort Worth killed five people early Monday morning. Police responded to the crash northbound on 35W near Seminary just after midnight.

Fort Worth Police say the driver of a black Camaro was 19-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez. He was speeding in the northbound lanes and rear-ended a sedan. The sedan hit the wall along the side of the interstate and caught fire.

MedStar says five people in the sedan died: three adults and two children.

Gonzalez went to the hospital with serious injuries. He was treated and then sent to jail.

The crash shut down northbound 35W more than five hours and police investigated the crash and talked to witnesses who had called 911.
