AllianceTexas is marking 35 years since opening. The master-planned project led by Hillwood covers 27,000 acres around Alliance Airport in Far North Fort Worth.

Alliance Airport has become the 20th busiest cargo airport in the country and the busiest airport that does not also serve passengers. Hillwood says AllianceTexas has had a $130 billion economic impact on the region over the past 35 years and $10.2 billion last year alone.

"The majority of the economic impact comes from where all the commercial development is concentrated, centered around Alliance Airport, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal rail hub and highway system," says Hillwood President Mike Berry.

Berry says AllianceTexas now has 590 companies that support 66,269 jobs. He says the 27,000 acre project now includes industrial space, office space and residential.

Last year, the dental supply company, Henry Schein, moved into 811,000 square feet. Southwire, a company that makes wire for electricity distribution, opened a logistics facility with 250 jobs.

In 2024, Bell Helicopter announced plans for a 447,000 square foot manufacturing facility for its V-280 aircraft. The vertical lift company, AVX, announced it would establish its headquarters at Alliance.

Embraer also announced it would spend up to $70 million on a service center at Alliance.

"Embraer is one of the largest [original equipment manufacturers] of commercial aircraft in the world, a major supplier to American Airlines," Berry says.

Berry says AllianceTexas is working to accommodate continued growth. He says Alliance has finished a taxiway extension, additional runway access and a noise mitigation project.

AllianceTexas also earned an $80 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America grant. Berry says the money will complement a $262 million public-private partnership to double activity and allow for additional expansion.

"I'm pretty excited about what this year holds," he says.

Over the past 35 years, Berry says AllianceTexas has generated $4.2 billion in property taxes for Fort Worth, Haslet, Roanoke, Westlake, Northlake, surrounding school districts, and Denton and Tarrant Counties.
