If you think you're too young to make a difference, think again.

This past weekend, 4-year-old Birdie captured hearts with her inspiring lemonade stand near White Rock Lake. Raising $320, Birdie chose to donate her earnings to local nonprofits participating in North Texas Giving Day.

Birdie’s lemonade stand wasn’t just a fun activity—it was a meaningful lesson in giving. Her customers had the opportunity to suggest local causes.

After thoughtful consideration, she decided to direct her donation to support shelters for people experiencing homelessness, particularly those in need of a place to stay during the Christmas season.

It's a great story right around North Texas Giving Day, which is officially on September 19. But the giving period has been underway since September 1.
