Eight Irving residents have been arrested following a four-month surveillance operation targeting the illegal distribution of Glock switches, which can turn semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic weapons.

Dubbed "Operation Reel Switch," the effort involved multiple law enforcement agencies and uncovered a scheme to distribute Glock switches.

Authorities recovered 35 Glock switches and four firearms that were being advertised and sold via social media platforms. Additional searches yielded five more Glock switches, four firearms, narcotics, and cash at separate locations.

Investigators also traced the source of the illegal devices, identifying a supply chain originating from China.

The arrested individuals, whose ages range from 17 to 22, face charges related to firearms and narcotics violations. Officials have not released the suspects' names.
