More than a dozen people have been chased from their homes because of a fire at a Kennedale apartment building early Thursday morning.
Just past 2:30 a.m. officials say flames were reported shooting from a second floor balcony at the Kennington Apartments on Little School Road near I-20.
After Firefighters arrived put out the flames, it was determined that twelve units are not inhabitable either from fire and water damage or because the power is out.
The Red Cross was called in to help the families who will need a place to stay or need help with immediate necessities.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
