AAA released its Memorial Day travel forecast for 2026.
While there is a slight uptick in the number of people traveling this year, there is a slight decrease in those doing it by car.
Automobile travel is down in Texas by 0.1 percent.
Daniel Armbruster with AAA says they look at how many people will travel more than 50 miles.
"When you look at the number of people driving, it actually dropped year over year by point one percent," Armbruster said. "This is 50 miles or more, so some people may not go four or five-hundred-mile road trip this year."
AAA projects 3.7-million Texans will be traveling including 3.2-million on the road.
Nationally, 45-million people are expected to travel including 39.1-million on the road.
