A six-week-old DeSoto boy is safe and with his mom after he was snatched by his father late Tuesday afternoon.
Police got the call just after 5 p.m. and spoke to the baby's mom who said the father Larry Burge had grabbed the baby and drove off.
Police put information about the car, the license tag and Burge's description out on the radio. His mother had a call from her son saying he would kill the infant, his wife and himself, so police prepared an Amber Alert.
But just as the Alert was about to be issued, DeSoto police heard from law enforcement in Wills Point, more than 50 miles to the east. They said they'd pulled the car over and arrested the father and that the baby was okay.
Burge is now up on a string of charges.
