Meet Ann!

This sweet brindle beauty has already won the hearts of many humans at the shelter, but she's ready for a permanent home of her own. Ann's affectionate nature and charming personality make her the ideal companion. If you're in search of a sweet "land hippo" to brighten your life, Ann is your girl! She's proven to be a friendly fellow canine companion in the past, so feel free to introduce her to your dogs. Just keep in mind that she might be a bit much for smaller pups under 30 pounds. Sorry, no cats or small mammals – Ann is looking for a cat-free zone!

October is “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!” And in honor of the Bissell Empty the Shelters program, through Sunday, October 15th, all puppy, adult dog and adult cat adoptions are only $25 at the SPCA Dallas Animal Care Center and the Ellis County Animal Care Center (2570 FM Road 878 in Waxahachie, Texas). There’s one exception—when a senior adopts a senior pet, age seven or older the adoption fee is waived.
