In partnership with the SPCA of Texas, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD brings you 'Adoptable Pet Pals,' a weekly feature to introduce you to animals that are ready for adoption.

KRLD's Kristin Diaz along with Maura Davies from the SPCA highlights the critical need for adopting families at local animal shelters by showcasing an "Adoptable Pet Pal" that has stayed at the shelter too long.

Meet Elle Binder!
Elle Binder is a very sweet and loving 1-year-old female mixed breed dog. She loves to give hugs and let everyone know that she loves attention. She definitely has some puppy energy so she would absolutely love to go on daily walks or have a backyard to sniff out some interesting scents and release some energy. Nothing slows her down, not even when her eye needed to be removed due to a previous injury. She is super friendly, but sometimes when she gets really excited to meet new friends she can be a little bit jumpy so please bring in any kids to meet her before taking her home. Doggie friends can be a little bit confusing to her sometimes, especially when she doesn't know them very well. Once she knows they're her friend, she loves to play, so maybe bring any new potential siblings for a play-date before we all head home. She's a little too interested in cats and other smaller animals, so none of those please. Come meet Elle Binder at the SPCA of Texas' Dallas Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Dr any day from 12-6. Elle can't wait to meet you!

CornucopiaCornucopiaSPCA of Texas

Cornucopia
Meet Cornucopia! She is a Labrador Retriever mix hoping to work her way into a human family with the help of the SPCA of Texas. Cornucopia came into the SPCA of Texas back in November as a stray from Ennis. She is just over a year old now, so she was quite wary of humans, and is still a little shy (though treats alleviate this rather quickly). She is a pretty dog with a black coat and glowing brown eyes. She is housed at the SPCA of Texas' Dallas Animal Care Center, so come on down seven days a week from noon to 6 p.m. to meet her. https://spca.org/adoptable/cornucopia/

Beyonce
Here's Beyonce! She may not be the famous star, but she comes so close! She is a sweet, fun-loving gal who is energetic yet polite, friendly, happy, and always bouncy. Plus, she's great at the cuddles once you've helped her get her zoomies out with a nice romp or walk. She will be great with any family, so come on down to the SPCA of Texas' Dallas Animal Care Center so no appointment is necessary to meet her. Come on by any day of the week from noon to 6 p.m. https://spca.org/adoptable/beyonce/

BruceBruceSPCA of Texas

Bruce
Bruce is a big boy, but he's a gentle giant. This 2-year-old male Rottweiler mix is just a big teddy bear, really. He loves making new friends, playing, and getting snacks. He'd be so happy to find a forever family that has either a yard or is ready to take him on a nice walk or two each day, but more than anything he just wants that new family to love. He can be a bit picky with his canine companions, so please bring any current dogs in your household for a meet and greet before you adopt. He'd prefer a home with human kiddos five and over. He's patiently waiting for you at the SPCA of Texas' Dallas Animal Care Center from noon to 6 p.m., seven days a week. https://spca.org/adoptable/bruce/

JijiJijiSPCA of Texas

Jiji
Jiji is a gorgeous, 9-year-old female domestic shorthair cat. She is sweet and a little shy, and she's looking for love. Once she gets comfortable in her new space, she'll be the most affectionate girl ever. Her dream home would be a calmer environment where she can gaze out the window and get in lots of naps. She's not sure about human kiddos, so a home without kids under 12 is ideal. She loves other cats, though, and would love to have a feline friend. She's waiting for you at the SPCA of Texas' Dallas Animal Care Center. Come meet her seven days a week from noon to 6 p.m. https://spca.org/adoptable/jiji/

Remember that in July, adult dogs and cats can be adopted for only a $25 adoption fee. Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older and a FIV/FeLV test for cats 4 months and older, initial flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative, a microchip, 30 days of MetLife Insurance, a free 14-day wellness exam with VCA Animal Hospitals, a rabies tag and a free leash.

The SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center is open to visitors seven days a week from 12-6 p.m. Appointments are available for select foster animals. Please browse available animals at spca.org/findapet and visit spca.org/dogadopt to inquire about a dog or spca.org/catadopt to inquire about a cat.
