In partnership with the SPCA of Texas, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD brings you 'Adoptable Pet Pals,' a weekly feature to introduce you to animals that are ready for adoption.
KRLD's Kristin Diaz along with Maura Davies from the SPCA highlights the critical need for adopting families at local animal shelters by showcasing an "Adoptable Pet Pal" that has stayed at the shelter too long.
Meet Sukie! A lovable 6-year-old mixed breed. She is an active girl looking for my forever home. She would love a home where she can play and lounge in a comfy bed or two. She's a little nervous at first, but if you give her a little time you'll be best friends! Borrow-A-Buddy Mom: Sukie is so sweet. Incredibly cuddly and always wants to snuggle really close. She jumped in the car easily but didn't get on the couch (even though I invited her). She did great meeting new people - wagging her tail and going right up. She also met my dog and did great. They sniffed and then pretty much ignored each other. I know she has renal issues but she's so beautiful and loving that I think she'd do great on the adoption floor. Come on by any day of the week from noon to 6 p.m.

Meet Chocolate! A 6 1/2-year-old mixed breed male dog, weighing in at a charming 50 pounds. This gentle giant is searching for his forever family, and he can't wait to meet you. Chocolate's loving nature shines through in every wag of his tail and gentle gaze. He's the perfect blend of loyalty and playfulness, making him an ideal addition to any household. Whether you have kids or other dogs, Chocolate would love to meet them before becoming a part of your family.

Meet Skip and Speckle! Two of the cutest kitties you will ever meet! Both being black and white domestic shorthairs with gorgeous green eyes, you’d think they were brother and sister. Although that’s not the case, they are pair bonded—best of friends that need to be adopted together.

Meet Chance! A younger pooch at about four years of age and he weighs in at a healthy 64 pounds. He has a beautiful, friendly smile and floppy ears! Chance’s black coat is complemented by his sweet tan face, under belly, and legs. This handsome guy can really crank up the speed when he gets into his zoomies. You’ll know that’s happening when he zooms around your backyard or even your living room. He is also quite an agreeable fellow, especially if treats are involved. Just let him know and he’ll probably be willing to perform a happy dance to get them.

Meet Ziggy Pawdust! A 2-year-old mixed breed sensation! Ziggy's not waiting in the sky; he's waiting for YOU at the shelter, and it'll be more than worthwhile. Bursting with boundless energy, Ziggy is the ultimate playmate. If you're on the lookout for a hiking buddy, he's your man. Foster friends can't stop raving about him—Ziggy's a smart cookie who's sweet as can be. He loves giving kisses and body hugs, making every day an adventure. His favorite pastime? Exploring shaded trails, keeping a close eye on those pesky squirrels, and watching people enjoy frisbee golf at the park.
