The National Weather Service says some parts of North Texas received up to two inches of rain Friday morning, and more rain could fall later today. A flood advisory has been issued for parts of Dallas, Kaufman and Rockwall Counties for the possibility of minor urban or street flooding.

The National Weather Service says some areas could receive another inch of rain.

Some parts of North Texas received small hail before dawn Friday morning. Hail the size of golf balls was reported near Lake Whitney.

Some areas reported wind gusts of up to 40 miles an hour, but the National Weather Service says storms were expected to stay below severe limits.

MedStar, an ambulance provider in Tarrant County, responded to 17 crashes when the rain first started falling Thursday afternoon. Wednesday, MedStar says it responded to 11 crashes over the same period.

The ambulance provider says one foot of moving water can move some cars; two feet of moving water can move SUVs and pick-up trucks.

MedStar has a list of tips for people who get stuck in water:

∙Remain as calm as possible (we know, that's harder than we think!). You'll need to think clearly and quickly during this situation.

∙Turn your headlights and hazards on. This will help first responders to locate you.

∙If flood waters rise around your car, but the water is not moving, abandon the car and move to higher ground.

∙Do not leave the car when moving water is around your vehicle. The water may sweep you away.

∙Lower your window slowly.

∙Most electric windows should work unless the car is completely submerged in water.

∙Breaking your car side windows should only be used as a last resort. If you can lower the windows, climb out, get to high ground, and call 911.
