Top-seeded Alabama, the defending national champions, and fourth-seed Cincinnati arrived in town Sunday to prepare for the game and to take part in a week of festivities.

Yesterday, some of the Alabama players visited virtually with children who are patients at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. The players chatted with the kids and their families and some of them played a little Madden football with the children, too.

The Bearcats players spent part of their day autographing footballs.

In addition to preparing for the New Year's Eve match-up, both teams are also having to navigate issues with COVID. Two of Bama's assistant coaches, offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien and offensive line coach Doug Marrone, did not make the trip after testing positive. But they are expected to arrive in time for the game.
