After being closed the last three weeks since the tragic shooting May 6, the Allen Premium Outlets announced they will be reopening for customers next week.
Not only that, the outlets plan to erect a permanent memorial to the eight victims lost during the tragedy.
Mall officials announced stores could reopen to customers beginning Wednesday, May 31 at 10am.
A spokesperson for the outlets said per NBC DFW, "As we reopen, we do so with heavy hearts in remembrance of those who were lost and with care for those who were affected by the tragedy on May 6, 2023. We will continue to pray for the victims, their families and all who loved them."
According to mall management, the memorial will not only honor the victims, but also "commemorate the enduring strength of the Allen community."
'This will be a thoughtful process which is anticipated to take several months," a representative said.
