On Saturday, Congressman Colin Allred earned the endorsement of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram editorial board, which described Allred as “a bipartisan lawmaker, willing to compromise, recognizing nuance and ready to serve.”

The editorial board credited Allred for his understanding of top issues important to Texas voters. He was also praised for his ability to work across the aisle to address those issues, writing on border security and energy production.

The editorial board said in its endorsement that Allred “stands apart” from his opponents.

The editorial board criticized Sen. Ted Cruz (R) for being out of the mainstream on too many issues. They also described Cruz as someone who takes things too far.

This endorsement comes after Allred earned the glowing endorsement of both the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News.
