A delivery driver for Amazon is recovering after being shot twice while delivering a package in Cedar Hill, and police have made an arrest in the case.
Yirmar Martinez said she was delivering a package early Monday, Oct. 12, when she pulled into a driveway off North Cedar Hill Road.
Martinez said she turned on her high beams to locate the front door and moved toward an access road near the home. She then saw a man with a gun.
Martinez said she lifted her Amazon vest and the man showed her a package before saying something in English she could not understand. He then opened fire, she said.
One bullet grazed the top of Martinez’s head, while another struck her lower back. She drove away as the man continued shooting at her, according to her account.
Cedar Hill police confirmed an arrest in connection with the shooting but have not identified the suspect. Charges have not yet been announced.
