Police: Itasca teen located and safe, one suspect under arrest

The Arlington police chief says a girl from Itasca who prompted an Amber Alert Tuesday has been found safe there. The Department of Public Safety says Lori Johnson, 15, had not been seen since last Friday.

DPS issued an Amber Alert, saying she may be in "grave or immediate danger."

The suspect was Joanna Barrientos, 18. Police say Barrientos had active felony warrants, other pending charges and a history of running from police.

Arlington Police Chief Al Jones said Wednesday Johnson had been located in the 1300 block of N. Cooper Street, a few blocks south of I-30. Jones said Johnson was found safe and was being reunited with her family.

Arlington is about 40 miles from Itasca.

Jones said one suspect had been arrested, but he did not confirm the suspect's identity.

Texas DPS cancelled the Amber Alert about noon Wednesday.
