UPDATE 1:55pm - Wednesday: Police say the missing girl has been found and is safe.
AUSTIN — The Travis County Sheriff's Office has issued an AMBER Alert for a 12-year-old girl missing from North Austin since early Tuesday morning, and authorities are urging the public to be on the lookout for a distinctive red Mustang they believe she may be traveling in.
Jazzlyn Anzora was last seen at approximately 12:00 a.m. in the 1700 block of Wells Branch Parkway. Investigators believe she is in immediate danger.
Jazzlyn is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red sweater over a white long-sleeve shirt, Christmas-themed pants, and carrying a Nike backpack.
Authorities are searching for 18-year-old Henry Mejia in connection with her disappearance. Mejia is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and has a distinctive shaved line in his eyebrow.
The suspect may be driving a 2017 red Ford Mustang bearing Texas license plate VVK 2712, with an Instagram logo sticker on the passenger-side window. The car also has aftermarket chrome wheels. The vehicle's distinctive markings make it recognizable - if you see it, call 911 immediately.
The Wells Branch area where Jazzlyn was last seen is a suburban residential and commercial corridor in far North Austin near Pflugerville, a heavily trafficked part of the region with access to multiple highways including U.S. 183 and Interstate 35.
Anyone with information or who spots the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately. You can also reach the Travis County Sheriff's Office directly at 512-974-0845.
AMBER Alerts - which stand for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response - are issued when law enforcement determines a child has been abducted and is in serious danger. The alerts trigger widespread notifications across wireless devices, highway signs, and broadcast media to maximize public reach as quickly as possible.
