The AMBER Alert out of Royse City has been canceled.
Officials say Jordan Sangbong was returned and is safe. His father, Desmond Sangbong, turned himself in at the Royse City Police Department with the help of his attorney.
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday evening for a 2-year-old boy from Royse City who was last seen just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Jordan Sangbong, 2, stands 2 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs 38 pounds, according to police. He has black hair, brown eyes, and it was unclear what he was last seen wearing.
Police suspect he is with Daddy Sangbong, a 38-year-old man who may be wearing all-black clothing. Sangbong stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 210 pounds.
Police say Child Protective Services had decided to remove Jordan Sangbong from the family's home in Royse City after investigating an allegation that Daddy Noah Sangbong had physically assaulted another child. When they arrived at the home on Mohan Street Wednesday night, officials with CPS say Sangbong had fled the area on foot with Jordan. Police have an arrest warrant for Daddy Noah Sangbong on a charge of injury to a child.
Police have not issued a description of any vehicle they might be in. Royse City is near Rockwall just east of Dallas. They're asking anyone who sees them or who has information about the case to call 9-1-1 or the Royse City Police Department at 972-204-7002.
