Amber Guyger's attorneys asking for her murder conviction to be overturned

An appeals court hears arguments today in the murder conviction of former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger.

Guyger's lawyer will argue that the former Dallas Cop should never have been convicted of murdering Botham Jean in September of 2018 and that her 10-year prison term is excessive.

Guyger went to the wrong apartment in her building after work. She testified that she saw a shadow, thought Jean was an intruder and opened fire.

The three judge panel will take the arguments under advisement and will likely take months to issue a ruling.
