Fort Worth (1080 KRLD)- The Fort Worth North Animal Campus has opened its doors to those four-legged friends looking for their forever home.
This new neighborhood is the new Fort Worth North Animal Campus, near 287 and Bonds Ranch Road. It consists of seven buildings on seven and a half acres totaling almost 50-thousand square feet.
During the site's ribbon-cutting ceremony, Fort Worth Councilman Jungus Jordan said he's amazed by the size of it all.
"I was expecting to see a single building with a few play yards and when I looked at the facility I said 'Gee, that's a neighborhood, that's a community.'"
Up until now, the only animal shelter the city operated was in the southeast side, near 287 and the 820 East Loop, so the additional shelter will be much more convenient to those in the northern part of the city.
