Another earthquake shakes North Texas, 5.1-magnitude centered near Hermleigh

Earthquake rattles small Texas community west of DFW

The U.S. Geological Survey confirms what a lot of Texans felt this morning - an earthquake.

The 5.1-magnitude shaker was centered near the town of Hermleigh, 3.5 hours west of Dallas. The quake was centered at two miles of depth.

The quake struck at 9:28 a.m., followed by a second aftershock quake of 3.2 at 9:40 a.m.

The earthquake was initially measured as a 4.8 magnitude quake.
