The Argyle ISD is switching Hilltop Elementary to virtual instruction only for the next week because of an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on campus.
The school district reports six students and eight staff members have active cases. That's affected the district's ability to properly staff the school for on-campus learning.
The online-only program will start today and run through Friday, January 29th. Crews will use that time to perform a deep cleaning on the campus and disinfect the classrooms and other areas.
Students will be allowed to return to the building on Monday, February 1st.
The district is asking any parent with a child who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has been in close contact with someone who tested positive to notify campus officials.
