Arlington High School has lifted its 'Shelter' after threats were made to the school online Monday, police say.
At approximately 8:50 Monday morning, Arlington police were made aware of a possible threat against Arlington High School that was posted to a social media site. The school day continued as normal but due to the investigation, the outer doors of the school remained locked and no one was allowed in and out of the school for several hours.
Police later said their investigation determined individuals not associated with the school had made threats against the high school in response to "baseless and unfounded allegations that a staff member there had an inappropriate relationship with a student."
Those staff members who were "threatened or falsely accused" have indicated they will press charges, police say.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
