Two men were arrested after a fight at an apartment party in Arlington early Sunday escalated into a shooting that wounded three people, police said.
Officers responded about 3:30 a.m. to reports of a fight at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Terrell Circle. When they arrived, bystanders directed them to three men, ages 23, 36 and 45, who had been shot.
All three victims were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive, according to police.
Investigators said two suspects arrived at a party at the complex and started a fight. During the altercation, one of the men pulled out a handgun and opened fire before both suspects fled in a pickup truck.
As officers arrived, they spotted a pickup truck speeding away from the area. Witnesses later confirmed it matched the suspects' getaway vehicle, police said.
A regional alert was issued, and officers with the Mansfield Police Department and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office located and stopped the truck a short time later in Mansfield. A witness identified the occupants, leading to their arrests.
Police identified the driver as 19-year-old Alexander Rubio, who was booked into the Arlington City Jail on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of fleeing a police officer. Cristian Rubio Lora, 40, was also arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
