ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington Police Department announced on Wednesday that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the April 21 incident that left 17-year-old high school senior Isaac Leal critically injured while participating in the viral game 'Senior Assassin.'

Leal, a student at South Grand Prairie High School, sustained a severe head injury after falling from the back of a moving Jeep Wrangler during the game, which involves players using water guns to "eliminate" assigned targets.

According to police, Leal had climbed onto the rear of the Jeep, driven by another student, as part of the game. The vehicle was traveling through a residential neighborhood when it hit a dip in the road, causing Leal to fall onto the pavement. Emergency services were called, and Leal was transported to a local hospital, where he remains on life support.

The Arlington Police Department, in consultation with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, conducted an investigation and found no evidence of reckless driving or intent to harm on the part of the Jeep's driver. As a result, authorities concluded that no criminal offense occurred.

Leal's family has reported signs of responsiveness, including movement on command and facial expressions, providing hope for his recovery. They are currently seeking a long-term care facility for his continued treatment.

The incident has prompted several North Texas school districts to issue warnings about the dangers of participating in "Senior Assassin," emphasizing the risks associated with such games, especially when they involve actions like riding on moving vehicles.

Authorities urge parents and students to discuss the potential hazards of viral trends and to prioritize safety over participation in risky activities.
